Close (Ctrl+F4) - a tip for the New Year

Post by Tadjio »

Happy New Year to you all :)

I thought I would share a little tip I have found for myself.
With the X3 background being so dark, it is nigh impossible to see the black icons,
such as the Close icon at the top right.

What I have done is to Customize my Menu Bar by adding the yellow "Close (Ctrl+F4)" icon
so that it is quick and easy to click.

Enjoy :D

Now, if only we could get those little right-arrows on the toolbars to show up when using Graphite.... :?

Well...it's a nice tip I suppose.

But, honestly, that "x" is always in the same place. So I have no need to worry about seeing it. But it is a nice tip for those who want it. :D

I don't get it. My arrows on the toolbar in the graphite theme ARE WHITE and easy to see. It's when I go to the normal theme that I can't see them (because they're white on light grey). Seems like different people have different colour scheme problems in X3...

Which arrows? Most of the arrows(down facing) are white/grey but there is a specific arrow (right facing) that's black and very hard to see. For example with the text tool if the tool options go off the side of the screen there is a black arrow that appears that allows you to reveal the hidden options. This one isn't white. Is it really white for you?

In both themes, I see the down-arrows as white and the right-arrows as black. In the regular theme, the down-arrows (white on off-white) are hard to see, and the down-arrows (black on off-white) are ok. In the Graphite theme, the down-arrows (white on black) are ok, but the right-arrows (black on black) are invisible.

I have tried all three of XP's color schemes, and the results are similar.

I guess it all depends on the display settings and Windows themes that you have on your computer as well as your Windows OS, since I see the close icon on my end clearly.

Abiel, I was under the assumption Tadjio was talking about with tabbed documents. If you turn on tabbed documents the "x" remains in the same place and is black.

Just to clarify, I am talking about Closing an Image (Ctrl+F4)
not closing PSP X3 (Alt+F4).

I do find it much easier visually to look for a yellow icon,
rather than guessing where a black icon on a black background is :D
