Editing .wmv

Hi all

I converted an mpeg to.wmv for upload to the net and foolishly discarded the original. I want to cut some of the .wmv file. I brought it into the timeline, made my cuts and rendered with "same as project settings" with horrendous results (very blurry). Am I missing something?

What are the video attributes of you .wmv? (Resolution and frame rates)

320x240 30fps. It's the preset .wmv tab in the rendering options.
