Greetings -
I'm a new PSP Pro X3 user and I need help setting up email.
I had the 30 day trial of ver. 13.2.1.15 and upon paying for it I expected the email function to work - it just hangs - here's the deal:
have XP and when I choose to email a photo I get this message:
windows installer cannot locate PSPPro.msi - windows installer cannot continue. Then the system locks up and this happens every time.
(During my 30 day trial I emailed the good people at Corel and their response was to point me to Microsoft's instructions on how to email in XP.)
I like PSPX3 - but if I can't email photos then It's worthless.
I use Windows Live Mail - any help on talking me through getting it set up would be much appreciated.
Regards -
Stuart
p.s. I called the 510 200-0438 support # and the wait times are astronomical and the international phone charges are NOT appreciated. What good is anything if there isn't anyone available to support it? I'm frustrated...

I am a little confused... Forget PSP for a moment -- imagine it does not even exist on your system. Now, I assume you have Windows Live Mail set up already with your ISP account details. What happens if you start writing an email in it, and use the Attach feature with that message. Can you not navigate to where your photo is, attach it and send it?

Re: New User - Email not working
Amusingly enough, I just switched on the computer on which I have PSP X3 installed, and went to see about its email-sending capacity. I had never set this up before as I use the method described in my msg above to send photos... It went through its routine of gathering information, but when it got to 'Configuring PSP', I too got a similar message to the one you got -- can't find PSPPro.msi'. Fine, I thought, I will just go to my original PSP installation file. Unfortunately -- and very unusually for me -- I have not been able to find it on either that computer or this one. I am mystified since I am normally pretty meticulous about saving everything I download. I found a pile of other Corel downloads, but not PSP...

Re: New User - Email not working
I just tried it myself. After trying to email it asked for my CD, I always buy the CD I hate downloads, it took a while to install then it got the email dialog loaded and sent it to my Thunderbird client without a problem.
But then the detect language error occurred the next time I tried to start up Paint SHop Pro so now I have to go fix that.

Re: New User - Email not working
Hi Ken -
I'm constantly looking to streamline my work flow.
(Years ago I decided that I could work short - smart hours or work long dumb hours and I chose to work smart and not hard.)
In this day and age I find it a real "head scratcher" when software developers don't always understand that a growing number of people email all the time.
I'm a photographer and as soon as I finish a shoot - customers want to see the shots and I want emailing to be as easy as falling out of bed.
To answer your initial query - I backtrack and attach photos all the time - I hate it for the reasons stated above - but I do it.
When I had Lightroom 3 on a 30 day trial I was surprised that I had to configure it to email via Windows Live Mail. Slight hassle - but dooable.
I did look all over my system for the PSPPro.msi file and couldn't locate it.
I hope someone figures this out and can help me solve my "challenge."
Thanks for your thoughts -

Re: New User - Email not working
Well I do have it, along with all the other install files, and this is from an ESD version. What I figured out, after reinstalling the thing a few times, is the NOS installer, or whatever it is, unpacks everything to a temp folder. Unless you specify a specific folder, it uses the system default. However, even if you do specify a different folder, it will create one, in the same folder using the name you provided. Then it treats this just like a temp, and once you have the program installed, it deletes all the files. Real dumb if you ask me.
So this last time, when it reached 100% on the unpacking, I pressed the Pause button. I had set up another folder, but like I stated, it creates it's own. So since I already had my own folder established, I copied/pasted all the files into my folder. Once the program was installed, all the files inside the folder created by NOS, were deleted by the program. Nice thing is, it did not delete the files from my folder.
Now the problem would be getting that PSPPro.msi file to anyone. It weighs in at 260MB. I don't know of any email client that will allow attachments that size, and all of my freebie file hosting services don't allow files that large.

Re: New User - Email not working
Ron -- great minds think alike, apparently!
In fact, I started downloading the TBYB version to get the msi file from that, then actually found my original install file. Found out the same as you that there was this automatic deletion of most of the unpacked files if set-up were cancelled. I didn't then do quite the same as you. I just started the PSP installation routine, which takes quite some time for the files to unpack. Then got the Corel set-up screen, asking me -- as would be normal, since I have X3 already installed -- whether I wanted to remove it. I just ignored it and opened X3, opened an image and went to the Email button. This time, I could point the 'Configuring PSP' routine to the actual PSPPro.msi file in the Temp folder, and configuration was complete. The picture I had chosen then appeared as an attachment to an otherwise empty Outlook Compose page...
So there are two ways -- yours more permanent than mine but both based on the same principle -- to get around this otherwise silly problem...

Re: New User - Email not working
Hello all,
I also tested that on my end and I got the same message, and since I lost my disc somewhere, I canceled the installation process and this screen pop up on my end. Though I'm not sure if the same thing will happen to you as well.
