BDMV versus AVCHD quality with VS13 ?
I am planning to buy a Blu-ray burner. Is there a difference in quality between AVCHD (that I already use to produce my VS movies) and Blu-ray BDMV movies produced with VS ? Is it visible ? I have a PS3 and a 50 inch plasma.

Re: BDMV versus AVCHD quality with VS13 ?
In a word, no!
Or not that I can see. After all, your AVCHD hybrid discs are in effect burnings a variant of a Blu-Ray folder onto the standard DVD. There are minor differences in the folder structure on the disc from a Blu-Ray disc, but the central STREAM folder is identical and uses the same properties for the burn. The only major difference between the two types of disc are the amount of video that you can fit on them.
This is also the case whether you burn a full AVCHD Blu-Ray disc or allow the conversion to mpeg-2 Blu-Ray format. Both are valid Blu-Ray formats, and again I can't tell any difference in the final products. But notionally, keeping it as AVCHD Blu-Ray should at least preserve the original quality, if only microscopically! But as I say, to my eyes at least, the end quality of both is identical, and both are excellent!!
