Creating Video Files
I put through a project with various clips bearing different attributes
The project last approx 38 min
I have 4 clips with attribute shown in Groupe A;I have 1(one)clip with attribute shown in Groupe B(clip was shot with HDD/HDV CAM)
and finally 1(one)clip with attribute shown in Groupe C;this last clip has already been produced/rendered.
All these clips are in the same video track (timeline).
I wish If all possible to keep the best quality possible video and audio
ie=h264 ,1920/1080, Dolby Digital Sound
This project is to be burned on Bluray ..
Kindly advise

Re: Creating Video Files
Hi
Try Share Create Video File-Bluray-H264 1920 x 1080
This is similar but increases the bit rate from 16000 to18000.
You could use Make Movie Templates Manager to create your own template.
Using the Add function will allow you to copy the properties of your video file.
This also keeps the audio as Digital Dolby 5 channel 3/2
The template will show from Share Create Video File.

Re: Creating Video Files
Many thanks Trevor
I have tried Bluray;H264;1920/1080 however
the MPEG Optimizer shows (show details)that my current datarate VBR is 18000 and the max encoding datarate VBR is 16,000
Is there a way to increase the VBR to 18,000 which I guess would give me a better result
Thanks again
snowstorm
Please note I also prefer Digital 5.1 channels but currently I cannot burn 5.1 with DVD Movie Factory 7SE

Re: Creating Video Files
Hi
I think you have mis-read the bit rates.
The bit rate showing on your first image is 16000kbps, that’s your highest bit rate.
When you choose Share Create Video File – Bluray (h264 1920 x 1080)
This will render using 18000kbps
View the lower panel in the Create Video File window, for Pal shows as:-
MPEG files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps
Upper Field First
(HDMV-PAL), 16:9
H.264 Video
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 18000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)
Increasing the bit rate is not going to increase the quality, wont do any harm though.
If you need a template different than the VS standard ones, you have to use either the Custom option, or Make Movie Templates Manager.
Sorry just noticed your last comment regarding Digital Dolby 5.1
You have to use Make Movie Templates Manager to create your own template
How…………
Settings-Make Movie Templates Manager.
Choose the Add option
Browse for the \35.MTS file
Give the template a name
Do not edit the template or change any settings. Otherwise you will lose the 5.1 option.
Close the Manager
You have now created a template to the settings in the first image. This is the original video files properties, you cannot get better than them.
The template shows from Share Create Video File, to the bottom of the list.
Once created you should be able to burn a Bluray using Movie Factory 7SE with DD 5.1

Re: Creating Video Files
It will be interesting to hear if that in fact worked... I had been under the impression that MF 7 SE was unable to produce Dolby 5.1 for licensing reasons i.e. Corel being unwilling to pay the relatively high extra licence fee required by Dolby for 5.1 when they are giving MF 7 SE away free...Once created you should be able to burn a Bluray using Movie Factory 7SE with DD 5.1

Re: Creating Video Files
Hi Ken
The video file is created in X3 using Digital Dolby 5.1
DVD Movie Factory 7SE does not recode the video.
What you get on disc is DD 5.1
I ran a test creating a Bluray folder (BDMV)
It contained a MT2S file within the Stream folder.
Reading this with X3 shows these properties.
MPEG files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(HDMV-NTSC), 16:9
H.264 Video
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 16800 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 3/2(L,C,R,SL,SR)
Am I barking up the wrong tree…………..

Re: Creating Video Files
Thanks Trevor -- I understand what you are saying, and appreciate your running the test.
It's just that, as you may be aware, there are a number of users in the MF forum who have been complaining of the inability to produce a disc (DVD, Blu-Ray or hybrid) with 5.1 audio. Yet they started off with 5.1 in VS, edited and produced a new file with VS. When they inserted this in MF 7 SE, however, they either ended up with dual channel stereo or no audio at all. A brief thread in the MF Forum by snowstorm is indicative: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 96#p210096
I even seem to recall testing it myself several months ago -- though I could be wrong about that -- and confirming it. I even seem to recall someone from Corel saying at the time that MF 7 SE was incapable of producing 5.1 -- though this may not have been in the context you describe...
Perhaps it's time for me to try it out again!

Re: Creating Video Files
Hi Ken
I do not have a Bluray DVD player, nor any discs.
So I can only create the Bluray Folder, I assume this would hold the identical content as a disc.
I would then be able to play the file on my pc.
A quick test showed the file had DD 5.1.
I would need to repeat the test again with a more suitable file.
I used the sample videos from the library, and as you know have no sound.
Perhaps snowstorm should step in here and tell us his results
But as I said a compliant Bluray DD5.1 would not be recoded as far as I understand.

Re: Creating Video Files
Hmmmm... I have been attempting to copy your experiment, so far without success... I have been trying it on 3 different AVCHD files, each with 5.1 stereo. Each is fully compliant with Blu-Ray standards. I have tried inserting them directly into MF 7 SE, both individually and together. I have also rendered them in X3 into a new fully compliant AVCHD 5.1 file, and inserted that in MF 7 SE. In each and every case, MF 7 SE has given me the dread 'Convert Title' and then the admirably awful 'Convert Step Got Some Problems' messages... And of course the 'Do not convert compliant MPEG files' box is ticked.
In other words, I cannot even get beyond first base, and I have no more time today (or indeed until at least next Tuesday) to try any more experiments...

Re: Creating Video Files
I have again created video file with Video Studio ;file shows 5.1 ;yet the same video file under Movie Factory 7se inquiry is not showing it.
I burned a bluray and wish to see if by any chance it the 5.1 would be present...
I am not sure which software i could use to inquiry the content of the bluray...
Any idea...

Re: Creating Video Files
The point Trevor was making was that either a Blu-Ray folder or actual Blu-Ray disc made using compliant AVCHD with 5.1 audio should show that in the final video on disc or in the folder. So if you have prepared either a folder or a disc, open VS X3 and navigate to the BDMV (or BDAV) folder or disc and find the STREAM sub-folder which is where the processed videos are stored. Choose one of the files and choose Insert Video, then check its properties inside X3. It should hopefully show 5.1 audio...

Re: Creating Video Files
I did few tests
I will do my best to explain with screen prints.....
I produced/rendered a project you can see under the screeprint =Original Produced= the attributes
Under DVD Movie Factory 7se the same file under the screeprint=DVD Factory 7SE=Slightly different attrbutes =IE DD5.1
I then (after burning my bluray)took video file and insert it back to timeline with final inquiry showing the dd5.1 being part of the file

Re: Creating Video Files
Well that's good news and confirms Trevor's findings...
I wonder why Mf 7 SE did not appear to accept my own 5.1 AVCHD as compatible files for Blu-Ray and tried to convert them???

Check the video used matches the MF SE7 type as Pal or NTSC.

Re: Creating Video Files
Good point... though the new video I produced was definitely PAL and MF 7 SE set for PAL... I am pretty sure that the other completed videos were also PAL. One large one I know definitely was, but I will check the others...
In the meantime, though, I have successfully made an AVCHD hybrid disc (on RW DVD) using that same file in MF 7 SE. And it behaves the same way you describe above -- 5.1 going into MF 7 SE; nothing in MF 7 to indicate 5.1 exists; but at the end of the day, the video in the STREAM folder of the hybrid disc back in X3 shows it still to be 5.1...
EDIT: Computers never cease to amaze me!
I don't know why -- maybe a good sleep overnight -- but I just tried the same video with BD folder set as the output, and this time it worked, with no conversion attempted in the process. And the same results as with the hybrid disc... So now I am satisfied!!
