Setup advice

Post by rhendrix9 »

I just got MovieFactory 4.

I'm wondering if I should;
1. install it to it's own partition, instead of "program files" (give it more hd space)
2. can I use a USB 2.0 drive for authoring and temp space (performance).
3. Does Moviefactory need to be on the same pc as the DVD burner
4. Any useful information before I installl?
5. Is Cpu speed critical, I have an Athlon XP 2400+ or a P4 3.2

thanks

Hi,

1. No - set temp files to another drive will help, but the appt can/should be with the herd on the O/S drive.

2. Yes. I have USB drives for capture/and USB DVD drives for burning.

3. Not necessarily. You can, for example write an .iso file (image file) that can be moved by removable (USB/IEEE1394) to another computer and burn the ISO with Nero or other program.

4. Don't screw up.

Just kidding...

5. Bigger is better, but then you knew that. :wink:
