Movie Factory 2.5SE - AVID exported QT Ref files to DVD
I need help. I am attempting to burn 7 AVID exported QT reference files to DVD-R. My PC is a HPxw8000 Workstation with a 2.8GHz CPU and 2GB RAM. The running time for all 7 files is 3hrs 3 minutes. MF said, and I know it isn't always accurate at this, that I needed 4.0 GB of space. Could the problem be that the actual space needed onthe DVD is over the allowable 4.3GB? I know this will take a long time to burn, but ULEAD worked for over 12 hours and then gave me an error "Unspecified Error". Should I burn them one at a time, should I export my AVID files in AVI instead of QT? Is there something else I could do?
check the temp folders for your converted videos -- they might be in there, and you can re-use any that were successfully converted (instead of re-encoding from scratch). I think they start with the "~" symbol.
were you trying to burn to hard drive (DVD FOlders and/or DVD Image), or were you burning to disc? I would burn the DVD FOlders to HD, then in a separate step burn from HD to disc.

I'll check for the already converted files. If they are there it will definitely help. Thanks. (I've been producing government videos for 25 years, but I'm a newbie in DVD burning!) I was attempting to burn to disk. I'll try burning the folders to HD and from HD to disk. Thanks much for the suggestions.
