Filter Forge Not Working

Post by phauxxee »

I just got my new Corel PaintShop Photo Pro x3 Ultimate today and installed it after removing the 30 day trial I was using.
My problem is that, while I was able to use Filter Forge 2 in the 30 day trial program I can not get it to show up in my registered version.

Has anyone have an idea why this is and how I might be able to fix it?

One thing I found out the hard way is that when you uninstall PSP X3, it takes all your PSP files with it (plugins, etc.). That might be what happened when you removed the trial version. If that's the case, you will have to re-install the Filter Forge plugin.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Thanks Kathy... I decided to uninstall my registered PSPP x3 and did re-installed. Guess you were right because my Filter Forge is now working.

Funny though, when I uninstalled the trial version it asked if I wanted to remove or keep all my personal settings, which I (wrongly) expected would leave my Workspace as well as my Plug-in settings.
Not true... something maybe Corel could seriously consider fixing because it's a hassle to have to reset everything the way it was if for any reason you might need to reinstall the program again.

Hello phauxxee,

If you have reinstalled the Filter Forge 2 plugin, then you will need to add it to your PSP X3 program. To do that, please follow the steps from this link: http://bit.ly/gJr3Qp

Thank you so much for the extra tips on loading up plugins,Abiel. I never really knew what those other check boxes would do or not, but I did go ahead and check them and found that other filters I had are not loading up as well. Appreciate your help very much :)

I thank you, Abiel, for your presence in the forum and for trying to help.
Your link leads to the standard explanation about the way to install compatible plug-ins in PSP.
I already knew how to do and I have always done it without problems with all my former version of PSP.
Since I have bought PSPX3 I have had lots of problems.
As for the plug-ins, I have installed them correctly in a separate folder and I have linked to it from the preferences, it worked at the beginning, but little by little things got worse, even though I have neither changed anything nor downloaded anything new on my computer.
The problem is that PSPX3 doesn’t apply any of my plug-ins on layers.
It did it only some days ago and nothing has changed in my computer since then.
It applies the effect of a plug-in only on a single background image, if I duplicate the layer and I try to apply the effect only on the layer nothing happens.
I have the same plug-ins installed with Photoshop and in Photoshop all works well on layered images.
Is there anyone who could help me to solve this really annoying problem?
Thank you in advance
Marisa
