Batch Convert Problem
I recently tried to convert a 76 minute movie in mpeg 4 to mpeg 2 using the batch convert function. I first went into options and set the bit rate to 6100 kbps and the audio to Dolby 2 ch. stereo, with the bit rate set to constant. After the conversion had taken place, I found the results were excellent, except that only 38 minutes were converted. I tried it again, but still only 38 minutes and then it it finishes. Why won't it convert the full 76 minutes? The destination folder is on my "D" drive which is 1 TB, so there is lots of room.

Re: Batch Convert Problem
Hi, I don't know if you've managed to find a solution to this. I located your post going through the unanswered posts. I don't use VS to batch convert, I just use it as an editor. So what I would try is to drop your MP4 clip into the timeline, do not edit it, go to Share>Create Video file, then select the proper MPEG-2 format, NTSC or PAL, and see if VS will recode the entire video that way.
Also I would be curious to the file size, and if your D: drive is NTSF or Fat32 formatted. If the drive is Fat32, then it will only allow a maximum file size of 4 gig, actually it's 4 gig -1byte. Recently we've had a post or two where they were having problems with incomplete rendering, and we finally were able to determine that it was due to the drive formatting.

Re: Batch Convert Problem
Hi
Strange, I have used batch convert without problems.
One tip though, if you set your Project Properties to your DVD Mpeg2 settings,
when you go Batch Convert, Choose Mpeg as the file type the details under “Options” should reflect the project properties.

Re: Batch Convert Problem
Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been away. My "D" drive is NTSF formatted, so that wasn't the problem. When I didn't get an immediate response, I tried converting the movie, which was about 600 MB, using the program "ConvertX To DVD" and two pass conversion. When the conversion failed with that, which I had never seen before, I suspected the problem was in the movie itself and gave up on it. I appreciate your suggestions though and have saved them for future reference!
