Re-installing X2

Post by doc matt »

Hello.

I had to completely remove videostudio x2 from my PC and now I want to re install it. However I can't find the x2 download link from Corel's site, only the new X3 version.

I have my existing key code for the X2 version, I didn't really want to pay for an upgrade as perfectly happy with the current one.

Can anyone ddirect me to the download page for x2? 8)

Cheers

Matt, Birmingham, UK

Hi Matt

Welcome to the forums………..

When you purchased X2 you should have received an e-mail containing a download link.
Even if you had this I do not think the link would be active. X3 has been out for a while so you can no longer download X2 without contacting Corel Support.

My X2 file is called ESDVSPRX2IEPCPF.exe

Maybe doing a search of your PC may prove fruitful.

Once this is run it self extracts to create a folder called “VS-Installation Files” in C:/Program Files/Corel.
You can install VS 12 from this folder. Assuming this exists.

But if your X2 files are gone then you have to contact Corel Support.
If you are successful in downloading X2 then back it up, save it to disc.

Hi Trevor, thanks for the info. yes the whole system is wiped clean and there are no folders of any type to do with Corel or VS

I'm dowloading the trial of X3.

Do you think I will only be able to pay the upgrade fee rather than the full price? I do still have my product key eve though I dont have anything installed.

What's the weather like by you? It's Disney on ice here and I'm supposed to go Xmas shopping later on today

Hi Matt

This time we got away with the snow falls around the Leeds area.
A sprinkling like icing sugar, but its cold, think it hit minus 10 last night.
Blue skies and lots of sun but very cold.

Contact Corel support to see if they will give you the X2 download.
I assume you registered the product on the Corel site, start there.

But yes with the X2 activation codes you should be able to purchase the upgrade to X3.
You don’t need X2 installed to install X3 just the X2 serial number.

Enjoy the shopping

Matt, I just went thru the same thing with my X3. As long as your X2 is registered with Corel, a simple call, email, or live chat should be all it takes for them to send you a new download.

Hello doc matt,

If you have registered your VS X2, even if it is not installed on your computer, you are eligible for the upgrade price of VideoStudio X3. As for redownloading the VideoStudio X2, you can also redownload the program by accessing the download link from your corel account as long as you include the 2 year download insurance.
