I unziped the filters and placed them in my ..\PaintShopPro\Plugins folder, in the progams/Corel/PaintShop Photo Pro/X3/PSP Classic/Languages/EN/PlugIns folder.
I did just as the instructions said and clicked on the exe to create the plug-ins and it worked. This plug-in showed up in the PSP interface. Kathy, you are right. The first time I tried to install, I did not run the exe file, which creates the plug-ins.
Thanks.

Ah Princess 111 - can we see your Window/Glassblocked artwork ?
I am so glad this worked for you ! and glad so many were on line to help you install the Kang (I was asleep!) ! They are interesting and FREE so well worth having.
After reading this topic, I decided to download the Kang plug-in and try it. However I can not use it. It installed fine, however when I try to use one of the filters I get this error:
kang_plugin_error.png (6.2 KiB) Viewed 6148 times
I've checked and all the *.8bf files are there.
I've tried everything that I can possibly think of to get this to work, which are;
Using Run as Admin to install the plug-in.
Run PSPP X3 as Admin
Install the Plug-in to my own personal plug-in folder and then add that to the File Location for plug-ins.
Installing to the C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Pro\X3\plugin folder
Turning on and off the Limit loaded plug-in files...
Disabling UAC to install
I do have all the service packs installed for PSPP X3, could the SP-3 be causing this problem? I also have the KPT filters installed and they are working fine. Generally I can figure these things out, but this one has me stumped..
Ron the advice detailed above re .exe above is good - I would try again - I have sometimes re installed them three times ! I am on X3 and they work but not my Intous 4 clone pick up and drop yet !
Ron - FWIW, I have the plug-in installed in my personal plug-in folder and I also have KPT installed. ( I also have all 3 PSP patches installed. I need to get rid of patch 3 but am putting it off since it requires uninstalling/re-installing PSP) Both Kang and KPT are working and I'm running PSP X3 as an admin.
You mentioned you re-installed but did you try re-downloading the Kang plug-in - maybe you got a corrupt download?
No I haven't re-downloaded the plug-in, I'll try that. They show up, but just throws that error. I also have KPT filters, and they work fine. I'll see if redownloading will solve it.
Thanks Kathy..
Well that didn't work.. This time I installed to a folder that I created in My Documents folder. It still throws the same error. I'm going to try it on my WinXP machine to see if it might be something with my Vista machine causing it.
Don't feel bad. Sorry to say, I had the exact same problems and are running XP and have all three patches installed for PSP. I got the same error message every time I clicked on a Kang filter. I downloaded this plugin and reinstalled it many times.
In fact, before testing this plug-in, I mentioned to Kathy_9 and LeviFiction that it was working. I assumed it was working, since I saw these plug-ins listed Under: Effects/Plugins.
Let me know what you find out.

I've gotten this error on two computers. Having no interest in these plugins I've never tested them until now.
Also I don't think it's because of the third patch. I bought a new laptop from Amazon to replace my failing one and before installing even the second patch I was getting these errors on these plugins. After the second patch it's the same. The only differences spec wise between this computer and my last one is the fact that it's 64-bit instead of 32. Both Windows 7.
No, that's not it. These appear to be older plugins so they would not be specifically made for 64-bit systems. And as I said I get this error on both my old 32-bit system and my new 64-bit system. And you had to get a very special version of XP to get it to be 64-bit. Ron's profile says it's 32-bit. So 32 vs 64 is not an issue here.
I had an idea that the Kang plug-in was an older one, and even tried setting the compatibility mode to WinXP SP2 (on my Vista 32-bit), for the installer file (exe). I even tried having PSPP X3 run in WinXP compat mode, however on my Vista machine it would not even open up. There's just something quirky about my system setup that it does not like, or rather my quirky system does not like this plug-in.
