painting problems

Post by newbe64 »

When I try to pick a colour from a colour drawing and try to apply/paint that colour on a black and white drawing I just get a gray colour.
It's the same if I use the background or a raster layer. The drawings are in .jpg formats. When I pick the colour the material palett changes OK,
when I try to use that colour (holding down ctrl key) it turns gray as soon as I activate the drawing I want to paint. Please give me a hint, I can't find
any sulotions in the help menu.

After selecting the brush you want to use what Blend Mode is it set too? That information is on the same toolbar as the Size of your brush. You'll want it set to Normal Blend Mode.

If it's not your blend mode, as df suggests, then I suggest you see if your drawing is actually a grayscale image.

So go to the menu bar and select Image->Increase Color Depth->RGB 8-bits/channel

It should transform the image into a fully color image and your painting won't turn gray.
