Choppy audio after latest update

Post by Doug Sundquist »

Against my better judgment I let the latest update install on Video Studio Pro X3 (now at 13.6.2.69) and now all my videos are skipping. This is happening in the time-line with camcorder and other source videos, and worse, when produced as output videos from VS is then in those permanently. The source videos are fine because I checked in Media Player. VS produced videos played in Media Player show the skipping - ugh. Prior to the upgrade everything was perfect. HOW DO I DOWNGRADE? THIS IS TERRIBLE. PLEASE HELP!

Hi

Not sure if System Restore would work but may be worth a go.
Otherwise I think the only sure way is to uninstall Video Studio.

I noticed some problems with Mov sound playback a few days ago and am in the process of Re- installing VS, updating and patches being done slowly.
(X2 and X3 affected)
Not sure now which playback mode was affected, but either Project or Clip playback was ok.

Unfortunately I am having other quality problems rendering standard DV-Avi to Mpeg 2. and need to get that sorted first.

I managed to restore to a point from a week ago or so and that removed the update and all is fine. There's definitely a nasty problem in that latest release it seems. Thanks

Hi Doug

Thanks for the info, can you confirm the actual name of the offending patch/update file?

I'm not exactly sure, there is no version label on the update dialog. Prior to the update I was at 13.6.2.36 and after I was 13.6.2.69.

Same problem here. My version is 13.6.2.69. We all know that the problem is Service Pack 2 (VSProX3_Patch3). Before Service Pack 2 everything was ok.
So COREL, please give us solution (new patch or the clear step by step how to downgrade).

Ok, i think i found a solution. Deinstall Corel Video Studio. Check if files in folder c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\ are also deleted. After that install Corel Video Studio again (without any updates). Make a copy of c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\ folder (in my case there was a copy from version with service pack 1 from my second computer). Now download all the updates (with service pack 2). Replace the files from c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\ with those one from older version.

In my case i have Corel Video Studio with service pack 2 ( version 13.6.2.69) and no problems with sound (on timeline or after rendring).
Sorry for my terrible english. I hope my method will work for You to.
