I have been using VS10+ along with DVDWS2 now for years now without any probs but now my VS10+ crashes after 30 seconds of loading.
I am using XP Pro SP3 completely updated.
The error message displayed is " VSTUDIO.exe - APPLICATION ERROR", The instruction at "0x0add7545" referenced memory at "0x0add7545". The memory could not be "read"".
I have tried to uninstall VS10 and completely remove all traces of VS10 then reinstall but this did not work.
I hope this is simple issue that I have overlooked as I have several vs10 projects saved.
I have installed the update patches for VS10+

At first glance, I'd be checking the RAM on my machine, or possibly a hard-drive starting to fail. If your comfortable in opening your computer, and know where to find your memory sticks, try gently pressing on them to make sure they haven't loosened. You could also try removing and re-seating them. Have you noticed other programs or problems with freezing or crashing? This is also a good indication that you have a bad memory stick. You can do a Google search for memory checkers. These can help with detecting bad RAM. Also noticed that you're running with just 1gig of RAM. I've always ran my WinXP with 2gigs. It certainly helps out when it comes to video editing. I also use multiple hard-drives, it helps speed things up, as one hard drive isn't stuck with constantly reading and writing.
When is the last time you "cleaned house" on your system? I try to reformat and start from scratch on my XP machine at least once a year. It sure helps get rid of all the garbage left behind, and speeds things up. If you do choose to do the latter, after you have your OS back up, all updates installed, install VS first and run some tests to see if things were cleared up.

Re: VideoStudio 10plus
I have done a Full clean install of my PC last July and all software has been working great and there are no Hardware problems.
I have quite happily ran VS10 and DVDWS2 on 512mb RAM so my PC is easily capable of running VS10.
The problem must be with VS10. Does the error message I gave make any sense to anyone.

Hi
Quicktime has caused problems with Video Studio, the fix is to install an earlier version.
I know that this problem has been reported with X2 and X3 in mind, but I first noticed the problem a few years ago after installing VS 10, so the problem is not a new one.
At that time I installed V6 that came with VS 9
What version of QuickTime are you using and are you able to roll back to an earlier version.?

Re: VideoStudio 10plus
Thanks, I think Quicktime will be what the problem is.
Do you think that if I install the quicktime that came with VS10 and don't update it, then that should work.

Hi
I don’t know.
We don’t really understand why Quicktime gives problems, only that re-installing an earlier version seems to help.
Unfortunately when it crashes it does not shout, “it’s a quicktime problem”
Some users just don’t have a problem.
We know it’s a real cos Corel have now provided a fix.
I am using Version 7.5.5 which I think came with VS 10.
Having said that I only use VS 10 for testing purposes, using X2 for my main editing,
So I’m not giving it a good run.
Its worth the effort to re-install QuickTime.
I don’t know.
