DVD factory 2010

Post by Buster »

For some unknown reason my Corel DVD Factory 2001 has stopped working. After selecting the make a dvd the green progress line stops at about 99% of its length an locks up. I have to use CTRL ALT DELETE to get me out of it. The error details are as follows - Problem Event name - CLR20r3, Problem Signature 01 - burningapp.exe. Prob Sig 02 - 1.0.0.50 Prob Sig 03 - 4ba12d57 Prob Sig 04 - authoring care Prob Sig 05 - 1.0.0.0 Prob Sig 06 - 4ba135a6 Prob 07 - 133 Prob Sig 08 - 6 Prob Sig 09 - pszqoaphx1u5zahbhohghldeiy4qixhx OS - Version 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
I have carried a clean uninstall and reinstall but did not solve the problem
Any ideas please?
regards

What was the format of the video you were using in DVD Factory? Where did it come from? Was it in fact a video clip or was it a project file from Video Studio X3?

I use DVD Factory 2010 then select either DVD Video or AVCHD both used to work OK. But now the DVD Factory 2010 locks up before I can select anything. I use a project file from Video Studio X3. This file is stored on an external hard drive.

Hi

A video Studio project has the extension .VSP.
This type of file is not compatible with DVD Factory 2010

Using Video Studio you have to complete the project by Share Create Video File.
Choosing the DVD option will create a Mpeg2 file suitable for creating a DVD.

Use this file to burn your DVD.

DVD Factory 2010 is not very good, and that’s being polite.

Corel have provided DVD Movie Factory 7SE as a replacement which uses a similar format as the older authoring versions for VS.

Its available as a free download for X3 users.

Sorry Trevor, but I have to say that DVD Factory 2010 *does* in fact accept X3 project files. It is one of the very few things it gets right (its menu templates are another...) Nevertheless, I agree that Buster should try creating a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 and using that in DVD Factory. And if that doesn't work (or even if it does!), then he should download and use MF 7 SE...

Sorry for being late to the party... I have not been able to find DVD MovieFactory SE in either Get More or Do More. Is it because I already purchased DVD MovieFactory 7 before I purchased VS X3? If that is the case, then maybe I am not eligible for the SE version. Please advise so that I can stop looking for it each time I open the software, which I have had since it was released earlier this year. Many blessings and happy holidays! :P

You're correct, if you have DVD MF 7 Pro installed, it will not provide the link to download the SE version. If you're really wanting the SE version, and I don't know why someone would want it when they have the full pro version, you need to first uninstall the pro version.

Thanks for the response Ron...I really wasn't sure if there was something about the SE version that was not happening in the Pro version that I have. Thanks for clearing that up for me and I will continue to enjoy the version I have. Be well.

No -- it's really the other way around! There are things that happen in the Pro version which don't happen in the SE (Special Edition) version...

Many thanks to you all for your help - re DVD factory 2010. It is strange that it was was working OK but decided to go on the blink. I am now using Movie Factory 7ES and as long as I do all the video editing, insert transitions, music etc and Create a Disc before I run 7E it all now works fine with excellent results in the AVCHD format.
Many thanks
