How Do I Export My Fished Movie File To My Hard Drive?

Post by Tony S »

[RESOLVED]

Hi,
I hope everyone here has been having a good day. Again, You all have been very helpful with me getting to this point with my VSP x3 movie project and I thank you all. I just have one more question concerning me at this time. I have converted my finished movie project into .flv format to be exported to a directory on my hard drive. I am not having any success with getting it done. Could someone here please tell me how to move this movie file to my computer hard drive?
Can someone help? :?

Thank you
Tony s.

Happy you figured it out Tony.. :)

However your post had me somewhat confused as to what it is you were having problems with. If you converted your video file... using VS X3, which I would assume is on your computer, where did you tell VS to save the converted file to? The Share>Create Video File, then the next dialog which allows you to choose the format type, and where on your computer (ie; Hard drive(s) ) you want to save it.

I guess you could also have been referring to your project file. A project file can only be save as a VSP (VideoStudio Project File). Anyway you beat me to a response.. :) I had read your post before you replied, and was trying to figure out what you were having a problem with..

Merry Christmas..

Hi Tony

As you are saving the video file to the hard drive I assume for archive purposes.

Flash Flv is not the one I would have chosen. Especially if you intend to re-edit.

So what are you intending to do with the saved video files.?

Hi Trevor,
What I wanted to do with these particular video files is to add the video to a webpage located on my hardrive. Is there a better way to do this? :?:

Is the video to be played as a pop-up or with the aid of an embedded player? One key thing is to either keep the required files in the same folder, that way you can just use a relative reference to it. If not you need to make sure you use an absolute path to your video.

Relative path would be if your video and media player or just the video file, that is triggered just by a hyperlink, with or without an image, are in the same folder called for example My Video. The video file (flv) is called my_vacation. flv. For your button or link just name the video file and it should load. This is fine so long as everything is kept in the same folder.

Absolute path is required if your files are located somewhere else. If your video file is located in another folder, you would then need to point to the video file, like: "C:\My Video\my_vacation.flv", in your URL. However if you move your webpage to a server or just somewhere else, you will need to change your paths.
