Custom .swf files

Post by Ricohoc »

Can .swf files be created and used in X3 as titles, video, images or other special effects? I'm just curious to know if any .swf files that I would create in SWiSH would be able to be imported into X3.

Thanks!

Hi

Video Studio uses some flash animation files (SWF)
View the library.
Select the small flower looking icon to right of preview screen, the library will show the colour clips,
Now choose the dropdown box for the Flash Animation page.

You cannot create Swf files, the only option is to create a Flash FLV file.

Unfortunately you cannot play FLV files within VS, but right click a flash thumbnail and select Play Streaming Clip…will open the pc’s default player.

I do not know why there is this limitation in playing flash within VS?

I would assume you can import your Swf files.

I happen to use Swishmax, and SWF files created in Swish can be used in VS. However try to keep them simple, complex scripted actions in Swish may not be recognized in VS. For instance, if you create one that uses a Goto Frame, VS will not see or use that. Make sure that your SWF files are long enough, since you're dealing with Frames in Swish, you need to make sure that your frame numbers match the duration you want it to be in VS. If you are working with PAL, you need to have 25 frames to equal a second of video.

Thanks, Ron and trevor!

I've only found one video editing program that allows importing of .flv files and editing, but the program lacks a lot of the other features that are in Corel. One is that I wasn't able to eliminate the original audio of the original file to make the file size smaller, but that's another story.

I understand your explanation perfectly, Ron. I use SWiSHmax also. I wasn't going to make anything complicated, just experiment with some creativity for opening and closing titles and stuff like that. Thanks!
