Fading out audio

Post by Ricohoc »

Is there an adjustment or option that can be selected to get more control over the fade out of audio?

Selecting just "Fade Out" isn't getting it for me.

Did a search on the forum, but found nothing about that specifically. Any help would be appreciated. 8)

I found it, guys.

It's in the sound mixer. I was able to start the "fade out" much earlier, and it gave me excellent control.

Sorry to bother.

I'm not sure what version of VS you're using, and there are differences. So I'm going to assume that you're using the most current, VS X3.

First in the Preferences settings you can increase the default Auto Fade-In/Fade-out. This is the duration applied even when you click on any of the audio fade icons. To manually control the audio level, you can click on the Sound Mixer icon (musical note & wave), which opens the sound mixer. Now on your audio clip you should see a line running down the middle. This is the volume level. Hover your mouse over it so that it changes to a small arrow. Now click on the line, and an adjustment node will be applied. You can then drag the node up or down. This is called Rubber Band editing.

Yes, I'm using VS X3.

Thanks for the clue on the default settings in Preferences! Wasn't aware of that tidbit. :D
