Help with Editing PSP X3
Hi, I am new to using this program and want to know if it is capable of changing a photo taken of someone not smiling to a photo of them smiling? If so how do i do this?

1)Yes it is.
2) That depends. Mostly on how much of a smile you want, but also the photo itself. But there are lots of ways to approach doing something like that.
This is where my help gets really limited. I'm sure someone else will have a more confident list of directions, I only have a vague concept that probably won't help you much.
For example I was able to take a smiling young person and make him look very stern and mean by using the warp brush (with push setting) to gently nudge the corners of the mouth down. You don't want to do too much too quickly or it'll look really distorted, and will probably take a lot of trial and error.
If you're curious on seeing the Warp Brush in action and everything I have a small tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRCC98jSaZ4
What's nice about the Warp Brush is that until you accept the changes, nothing remains changed. It also works directly on the original image so there's no need for cutting, pasting, and other such steps. You just use your mouse to gently nudge the mouth into a shape you want. It is, however, still best that you work on a copy of the image and not the original.
Another method is to take another picture where they are smiling and replace either the mouth or the whole head depending on what's easier, this one is harder in my opinion as any sort of shadows and lighting make doing a composite a little bit harder.
One option to do this is to use the rectangle selection tool and select the smiling mouth from the other picture and then go to Edit->Copy. Go to the picture you want to put the mouth into and select Edit->Paste as New Layer. This will put the mouth on it's own layer so you can move it, and edit it all on it's own.
Using the pick tool (looks like a regular mouse icon) or the Move tool (looks like four arrows) you can go ahead and move the square mouth piece into place. If the colors don't match up you can use the Eraser tool with an opacity of 20 and a hardness of zero to gently go around the edges of the square to erase the hard edges and see if that helps. I don't have any practical examples of doing this but I do have tutorials on the tools mentioned (Pick, Move, and Eraser) if you're at all interested in watching those just go to my profile from the link above to find more.
