PSPX2 Organizer prevents PSP from running

Post by PavkaGuru »

Hello,

I'm unable to run PSP Pro X2 after I clicked the "All Photos" folder within the organizer window. Since then, and every time I try to run PSP, it starts to browse the whole hard drive (750GB) and never stops. The CPU usage raises up, near to a 90%, and the other running applications become very slow. I have to use the Windows Task manager to stop the runaway PSP.

Is there a way to prevent organizer from browsing the HDD? Please advise

Thank you for your support

Don't know if it'll work but you could try resetting the interface. Shift+Click on the PSP icon and it'll ask you if you want to reset the interface, say yes and see if that fixes the problem.

Hello PavkaGuru,

First things first, are you using PSP X2 on windows 7 if you do, then that could be the program. Since PSP X2 is not compatible with Windows 7. You can follow the Windows compatibility mode from this link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows.

Hoe that helps.

Hello
@ levifiction. Thank you, but I can't have access to the program because after it starts, the program busy icon (the spinning circle) is displayed and the "Not responding" appears on the window bar.

@ Abiel Corel NA. Thank you. It's true. I'm using PSPX2 under Win 7. But I'm doing this way for more than a year. Although I upgraded to X3, I returned to X2 because I got disappointed with the X3 organizer which is not longer integrated within the Workarea. Under X3, organizer starts its own separate process and hides the workarea. I heavily work with images and portions of images so I don't feel comfortable when having to switch many times in the same session, between the workarea and the organizer. On the other hand, under Win 7, X2 is doing OK. Or it was, till I clicked "All photos" in the organizer

All I need is to stop organizer from trying to browse my entire hard drive and let me take control of PSP.

Do I have to reinstall X2? If so, is there a way to restore my configuration? I use to save the work areas under different names, but I don't know where are they saved.

Thank you for your support.

Hello PavkaGuru,

Since PSP X2 is not compatible with Windows 7, even if you reinstall the program I'm afraid you will encounter the same problem if not similar issue with the program. But if you have not tried the Windows 7 compatibility mode, then you may want to try these steps: URL: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows

I killed the organizer by renaming the . exe file. My X3 now runs without it, and it's a relief to not have it anymore. (Pacthes install a new instance of it, so the you have to rename it again.) I use windows explorer as my 'organizer'.
