Hi. I have a video that was transferred from vhs into avi format. AVI file plays and sounds fine using Windows Media Player. Also sounds fine in VideoStudio Pro X3 when played from the timeline. But if I create a video file, the resulting video has awful sound. It sounds tinny and screechy, as if played from tiny blown speakers.
I'm not trying to do any fancy conversion, just wanted to clip some excess video off the ends and save the resulting file. Anybody know how to fix this? I haven't tried all possible formats coming out of VideoStudio, but have tried DVD, mpeg, wmv, and mpeg-4. Same sound problem with each.
Incidentally, you can find people having this same problem using Windows Movie Maker if you search Google. I was hoping VideoStudio would preserve the sound better after editing AVI files, but no luck yet.
Thanks,
-Emery

Re: AVI sound problems after exporting to video
Hi Emery, and welcome to the forums!!
Unfortunately, .avi is merely a wrapper extension, and there are over 800 different video formats which call themselves .avi. So we need you to right click on one of them inside Video Studio -- either in the library window or in the timeline -- and for you to copy ALL its Properties here please. And please tell us the type of format (and *its* Properties) that you are trying to create a new video in. Then we will have a better idea of what might be happening...
