Sometimes I can get it to do a Batch Convert without crashing. Sometimes.
It will always crash when I drag an MTS into the timeline.
Can someone help?

Welcome to the forums!
You didn't fill all your computer details in your profile when signing up, and I am afraid those are precisely the sort of information we need in order to be able to answer your question. .MTS files are AVCHD, and that is the most demanding video format currently on the market, requiring at the very least a decent Core 2 Duo processor -- and preferably something better -- even to be able to play the video smoothly. So get back to us with your computer details, plus information on what sort of camera you were using, and someone may be able to help...

Thanks - I've updated my profile.
The video was filmed on both a Panasonic digital camera (DMC-FX500S) and a JVC camcorder (GZ-HM320). I'm able to play MTS files fairly smoothly in VideoLAN.

Thanks for updating your profile.
Can you describe exactly what you mean by "dragging an MTS into the timeline"... I mean, do you have it in the VS library pane, or do you have a Windows Explorer/Computer window open in the relevant directory and drag the the files from there?

I mean I'll click INSERT VIDEO and it'll show up in the list of videos on the top right window (I'm assuming this is the library pane)Ken Berry wrote:Thanks for updating your profile.![]()

But if I drag it down into the Timeline View, it crashes, every time.
