Corel VideoStudio Pro X3
Windows Vista
Video project with a main video track and a separate voice track. I have the video track muted and am only using the voice track for my audio. It sounds fine when viewed in the software. When I export to a video file (avi, mpeg, etc.), the sound from the video track is there so I can hear both. I have all tracks muted except for the voice track but it doesn't seem to affect the exported video.
Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
Can you confirm that you have actually muted all clips in the top timeline.
Right click a clip in the top timeline (Video Track)
The pop-up panel should show “mute” ticked.
Do this for all clips.

Re: Audio Problem after Export
Upon seeing your attached image, I had to look for it because I had never seen it before or known that it could be done. I finally found it when I went to Audio View (Sound Mixer). And I am still not sure what the mute button is for in that case.
As you experienced, when in Audio View, if you click to mute a track it does, in fact, mute that particular track. But only when in Audio View mode. Once you switch Audio View off, the muting is turned off.
As I stated, I do not know what muting a track in the Sound Mixer does. But I do know that it does not mute an entire track. Although that would be handy, the only way to mute a track is to mute each individual clip, as Trevor alluded to.

Re: Audio Problem after Export
Thanks for the input Black Lab. After my last post, I played around with it and still never saw a mute box that could be checked anywhere. I selected each clip individually (luckily there were only 6 or so) and just turned the volume to zero (in the "attributes" tab for that clip). That did the trick. Thank you both very much for your time and thoughts!

Hi gohiking26
The icon you show in the attached image is part of the Sound Mixer.
Four available, they do not mute the track but rather select the track to be edited.
Select one and the sound mixer volume level bars will show that track.
To mute a clip
First leave the sound mixer to return to the edit timelines
1 / Right click a clip, now you will see the “Mute” option
2 / Select a clip in the timeline, (Left Click)
Open the options panel by selecting the Options button lower right of the library.
The Loud-Speaker icon adjacent to the digital click mutes the clip.
The 100 is the %age volume.
The ramps fade-in fade-out.
Mute all clips.
1 / mute the first clip
2/ right click and select copy attributes
3 / using Shift +click select all clips
4 / right click and select paste attributes

Re: Audio Problem after Export
Just a note on Trevor's advice to use the Copy Attributes command to mute the clips. Remember that if you have an effect or something on that first clip, once you copy it that effect will also be pasted to the other clips. If you want to use that method to mute clips it is best to do it before any other editing.
