copying dvd or ISO

Post by cmoulikus »

Hi
I have VideoStudio Pro X2. Can someone please tell me how to do the following using this software:
1) Copy a DVD into another blank writeable DVD
2) I have an ISO image of a DVD on my hard drive. How do I burn that into a DVD using video studio?

thanks
chandra

Simple answer is that you cannot do either with Video Studio. It is an editing program, not a copying program. The only way you can use it to copy a DVD is to import all the video from the DVD then go through the editing module to produce a new mpeg-2 of the original. Then open the burning module to produce a new DVD -- though the menu will probably be different.

With earlier versions of VS, it came with a utility which would allow you to burn an ISO, but that was dropped some versions ago.

Hi

It is most likely that you have a program installed that will do the job.
I have a LG DL burner drive that came with some software (LG power tools)

Nero, will do what you want.

DVD Shrink is a free program that can burn Iso

Info I found at Microsoft.com

ImgBurn (FREE!!!) can do both (assuming that you are not trying to copy a copy-protected DVD).

(And, I believe DVDshrink can only burn if you have an older version of Nero installed.)

Hello cmoulikus,

You may want to try DVD Movie Factory 7, which can do both. You can download the 30 day trial via http://www.corel.com/trials

Trevor -- I agree that the SE version cannot do this, but the full Pro version can...
