Paintshop x2 ultimate very slow editing!!

Post by timborama2001 »

I have Corel Paintshop Pro x2 Ultimate installed on both of my computers. The older slower (processor, memory etc.) has no problem editing photos fairly quick. When I click for instance one of the many filters or to one step edit the photo. It performs the process again fairly quick. Now on my newer faster computer with 4gb of memory and faster processor, when I click the same options to edit the photo. The computer lags for a few seconds, everything will go blank except for the background of the program & it takes approx. 5-10 for the process I ask it to perform to do so. Why is this? It is very aggravating as I use my newer computer for almost all my photograph storage & editing. Can anyone help or give me any suggestions. I always though it was maybe my memory as I previously had 1gb of memory. But then I upgraded to high end very fast 4gb of memory. But there was absolutely no improvement.

Are you still running WinXP? If so it's my understanding that it will not recognize anything over 2 gig of RAM. That would mean that you have an extra 2 gig sitting around doing nothing.

It is showing 3.21gb usable ram. So it is recognizing it. Still doesn't make sense why it lags.
