windvd 2010 captures

Post by loner926 »

I've used several versions of this software over the years to capture still images from dvds. My OS is windows 7 64-bit Home premium. All previous versions allowed the user to pause a playback and featured forward/reverse shuttle controls in the viewing screen for frame by frame viewing until until the desired image could be captured, with windvd 2010 I can't find this feature and have to pause during normal playback speed and hope that when I pause it will be on the image I want. I went to corel's site to see if I could re-download windvd9 which has the shuttle controls but though I could see my purchased products I couldn't find the download links (maybe they expired). My question is (1) Does anyone know how I can re-download my previous purchases? and (2) Do these shuttle controls exist in 2010 and I've just haven't been able to find them? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello loner926,

Looks like you have a number of question about WinDVD.

1. To redownload your previous purchased of WinDVD, you can redownload the program from your corel account, the download link should be active for two years if you have the download insurance. For a detailed information on how to redownload your previous purchased, please visit: http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/758190

2. I think your question will be answered by this online help article of WinDVD, just click here.

There are no shuttle controls in WINDVD2010 but you can still pause the video and increment 1 frame at a time. You will have to use a keyboard command though. It is normally the n key.

I posted a similar question on 1 May'10:

Theoretically, one can 'frame step' using the 'n' key, but it doesn't work for me, and no one replied to my query with any solution. Obviously you have the same problem. Perhaps someone from Corel will respond since we both cannot figure out how to do this.
