PSPPX2 - Error Mesages from saved Presets

Post by Micheal »

Hi - I have been using PSPPX2 Ultimate for a while now and up to now have used all my old PSP9 brush presets without any trouble.

This week i have designed a few new brushes in PSPPX2 Ultimate etc but when i first run the program i am getting error messages that the program has trouble loading the new presets.

This dosent stop the program from running or the presets from loading - but the list of error messages gets longer as i add new presets.
I have all the paths set corectley Etc and the presets are loged into the correct folder with all my other presets.

Can anyone help out with this problem, as I have to admit im stumped. :(

All help appreciated

Do you get the messages on all presets, or only the ones you've been making recently? Also only on brush head presets or on other presets as well?

Can you upload one of the presets that you get an error on?

Oh that's easy.

In the Post Reply page, under neat the "Save" "Preview" and "Submit" buttons you'll see two tabs: "Options" and "Upload attachment."

Click on upload attachment and find the file you want to upload and hit the "Add the file" button to add it to your reply. It'll go ahead and upload it to the forums here and we can download it after you've hit "Submit" for your post. :D

Hello Micheal,

If you are getting this error message, I suggest that you reset the software to its default state. To do that, please follow the steps from this URL: http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/760159.

Hi Guys -- Thanks Levi for the tip and Abiel for the info on re-setting.

What has come to light after some long pondering is that when i first installed PSPPX2 i upgraded from PSP9 and as i had a lot off brushes and presets in PSP9 I directed my Brush File locations etc to my PSP9 folders -- one of these folders held the PSP9 default brushes.

As Abiel sugested i reset PSPPX2 to defaults and just saved brush presets using the PSPPX2 default brushs and everything seems to be ok

The trouble i was having seems to be when i saved a brush preset In PSPPX2 using a PSP9 Default brush. I know they are both identical apart from there file names but are the scripts, as all the errors i was getting were related to Script errors.

So now the next question is (1) Is PSPPX2 backward compatable with PSP9 Brushes and presets
And if not how do i get all the Brushes and Presets i have accumulated in PSP9 to work in PSPPX2 - or cant i ?

Thanks again for your help -- Mike :?

They are backwards compatible. I just don't know if they are directly.

If not then just import them by going to File->Import->Custom Brush

It supports jbr(Jasc Brushes) pspBrush (corel brushes) and abr(adobe brushes - but old style)
