adding music from itunes to Movie

I tried to add 3 different songs from the Itunes library as background music for a recent movie.
The 1st and 3rd song did not record but the 2nd did.
The titles of the 1st and 3rd were present and the length of each song was silent but the middle song played well.
What happened.

could be digital rights protection of the music?
If you have mp3's convert the songs to wav and try again.
