DVD Movie Factory: Create DVD without menu

Post by makcor »

I downloaded the trial version of Video Studio X3. When creating a DVD it launches the DVD Movie Factory. Is there a way to disable all DVD menus? I just want to create a DVD which starts playing the video as soon as inserted in the drive. There was such option in the older DVD Movie Factory 3.0, I believe.
Thanks.

On the first page, where you insert the media, then just above the burning timeline to the left, there should be a box with Create Menu beside it. Untick it.

Thanks for your reply, Ken.
When in Video Studio I click on (3)Share and Create Disk, it invokes the DVD Movie Factory. In DVD Movie Factory, the first screen is Create Video Disk. I don't see a box with Create Menu next to it anywhere in that screen. The next screen is Menu Editing, and again, there is no box in that screen either. I tried to delete the Background and annoying standard soundtrack, but it would not let me.
This is DVD Movie Factory 2010 version 1.6.2.42 that came with the trial version of the Video Studio Pro X3.
I have the old buggy DVD Movie Factory 3.0 and there is not problem removing menus there. I may have to go back to the old version  .
Thanks again.
Michael.

It appears that it is NOT possible to create a DVD in Movie Factory without menus.

Sorry -- I was thinking of Movie Factory 7 SE where you can, of course, disable menus. But MF 7 SE is only available to registered users of X3, and not the trial version.

If it's worth the time & trouble to you and you want to do some hacking, you can modify the DVD with PgcEdit (FREE!!!). I can't give you exact instructions, but it would simply involve adding a "pre command" to the beginning of the menu instructions that tells it to jump directly to the video. The viewer will never know there's an inaccessable menu! (You'll have to make DVD folders on your hard drive or copy the VIDEO_TS folder back to your hard drive and re-burn after editing, because you can't edit the actual disc.)

Or, you can try a different DVD authoring program -
DVDStyler (FREE open source)
DVD-Lab ($100 - $250 USD after fully-functional free trial).
