just bought and downloaded studio x3 for first time. Trying to import downloades flv files for first time. getting error message "unable to open file format mismatch"
thought flv files were acceptable. Did download them from HULU using stream transport. Although was able to work with these files using a different video editor, AVS4 media.

You cannot import or edit Flash FLV files to the Video Studio timeline.
Although you should be able to import to the library, then right click and select Play Streaming Clip will open your default player.
You can however convert your work to Flash FLV.
Share Create Video File-FLV or Custom for other options.
However as far as I know you can import and edit SWF type files.
