Hi
I have a panasonic ds 11 digital video camera which worked with win xp but I have since upgraded to win 7 home and cannot capture from the camera with a message video capture driver problem. I have updated the driver for the video card which is NVIDIA and have the new patches installed but still no difference. Any help would be appreicated. I am using firewire connection. In the capturing window I can see that the panasonic dv camera is selected therefore the software is must be connecting to the camera. Also I am able to play , switchon/off the camera from the software but cannot see any footage. The screen is blank.

Re: videostudio capture driver issue
Can you capture with another application? For instance, WinDV is a free capture utility. If you cannot capture with that then there must be an issue with your cam or firewire. If you can, then it is probably an issue with VS. But if you can capture with another program I would suggest you just use that then import your clips into VS.

Re: videostudio capture driver issue
With older camcorders often using the elgacy firewire driver will solve the problem,

Re: videostudio capture driver issue
Hi
I used windowss move maker and had the same problem but because the camera name came up on the capture screen I assumed that the firewire was OK. The cam has been working fine and I can't see anything wrong with it. I might borrow a camera and check to see if the problem is replicated.

That is a good idea.I might borrow a camera and check to see if the problem is replicated.

Re: videostudio capture driver issue
Thanks Skier Hughes, using the older legacy driver has done the trick. Nij
