I am unable to insert a MP4 file from a GO PRO HD camera into the timeline.

i get a " file format mismatch" error message

I have read several posts relating to VS10 & other versions, but not VS11+

i tried changing the file extension to .MPEG-4 but this did not work

file size is aprox 1.7Mb

Hi

I do not use VS 11 so I am not sure what types of MP4 VS 11 supports.
You may be best to convert the video file to a more suitable format.

There is a free program called Super that should be capable of converting the video.
As I say its free, I have had some problems navigating the Super web site trying to find the correct download.

Did the Go Pro come with any installation disc? And if so, did you install it? I ask since any specific codec used by the camera would need to be installed in case it varied from the one used normally by VS...

Install the K-Lite Codec pack from Download.com, if that does not work change the file extension from MP4 to MOV

I wouldn't install the entire codec pack, just the codec you need. Please read: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?t=29725

prox3 does not seem to like full hd 16:9 1080p (1920x1080). Set your go pro camera to resolution r1 or r2 or r3 or r4. Do not film in r5. There is no r on the screen of your camera ,only the number (in the bottom hand corner)
