How do you Render in X3??
How do you render a project vsp "file in progress" while still working with it in X3? In X2, when i want to pre-render what have done so far, i select "High Quality Playback" in Preferences|General|Playback method. Then upon clicking the play button in the preview window, the project renders. The next time I want to render in X2, the Smart Render technology inherent in X2 only renders the new information added since the last render. In X3, there is no such option as "High Quality Playback" in Preferences|General. So how do you perform a "render" with a file still in progress in X3 ?
Cheers,

Re: How do you Render in X3??
You can't. In their infinite wisdom Corel did away with HQ playback.
And, SmartRender had nothing to do with HQ playback. HQ playback did render a temporary file for previewing only, but had nothing to do with rendering a video file, which is what SmartRender relates to.

So the only time one can "render" their .vsp video project in X3 is when one is completely done with the .vsp project and you are ready to create the video file (MPEG2 file) in the Share step??

Hi
The High Quality option was used to make timeline playback smoother.
If you were having problems with the timeline instant playback then using High Quality would help, the timelines content being rendered to temporary files saved to the Preview folder, View File Preferences Preview Tab.
The playback being achieved from a single file rather than the individual clips in the timeline, improving the view of the preview screen
I do not think the preview files play any part in speeding up the final rendering of your project, its just an aid to editing.
As Corel have developed Smart Proxy there is no real need for High Quality playback.
After all, the ultimate aim is to make timeline playback acceptable.

Re: How do you Render in X3??
No Bryan, you can render your project, or a portion of it, at any time. Yes, it would have to be at the Share step (create video file) now that HQ playback has been removed.
