Hi there, Jeff,

No, I still cannot install VS even though I have set "Full Control" Permissions to "Anyone" in the five Registry Hives.

Try creating another user account on your system. Make it an administrative account also. If you have completely removed VS, all traces of it, then try installing VS under this new user account.

I've got a "gut feeling" there's something messed up on your system.

Hi Ted

As the information given seems to indicate there's “something messed up on your system.” (quote Ron) you may wish to consider repairing your operating system.
I think you are running XP is that correct?

As far as I know a repair does not affect your personal files.

I don’t know a lot about system repairs so if you are unsure others on the forum may help .

I searched Google for repair windows xp, I found this, seemed useful

Hi, Ron P,

I tried that, without success. Many thanks for your help, anyway.

Hi, Trevor,

Thank you too for your input. That link you sent looks to have all aspects of a Windows repair covered and I will find it very helpful if I decide to go that way. I'm not needing VS at the moment, so will give it a rest and apply some more thought to my problem.

I've finally resolved my installation problem.

After all the hours I spent setting Permissions in the Registry and searching for stray VideoStudio files that Revo and RegSeeker may have missed, I ran the Windows Install Clean up again and although there were no VideoStudio entries I was suspicious of one namely: (All Users) [12.0.0.0000]. I Googled this entry and it came up as something to do with Corel VideoStudio Registration. I deleted the file and my installation completed without a hitch.

Thanks, Trevor,

It's a great feeling to finally crack a problem like this one and all the adjustments and mods I've done on my system don't appear to have had any adverse effects, as yet. My health treatment continues tomorrow with a dye-injected CT scan to check my readiness for the two aortic aneurysm repairs awaiting me. It's now almost six months since my double heart bypass, aortic valve replacement and I.C.D. fitting. (Internal Cardiac Defribllator), so I must be ready.
