I have VideoStudio Pro X2. Purchase late last year to create a 50th wedding anniversary video for my parents. Worked great, able to mix video, add music, able to copy to DVDs, etc.
I haven't opened it for a while, until today. I tried to make another copy of the video on a DVD tonight, the window pops up, it says the video is loading, but the video never comes up. When I try to click on the popup (anywhere), it says the program stopped working and MS will shut it down (gives me the option to shutdown or continue).
I downloaded SP1 as well. Still same issue.
The video will play fine in the edit mode. I tried to copy another video compilation that I made a year ago (same timeframe) and it worked fine.
I would hate to loose this file. Someone please help!

Re: Pro X2 does not create disc!
Describe your problem: Can not create DVD with one VSP file. Other VSP files seem to be no problem.
Properties of your source files, including video, audio, image files (format, file size, where did you get it?): I created a VSP file myself about 1 year ago using VideoStudio Pro X2 (a copy I purchased) and the Video Studio Editor. It included about 20 video clips with sound from the video plus a music track as well. It's 880kb in size. The other VSP that I created is 1,408 kb and only contains pictures....no video or sound....and I am able to create DVD with this VSP.
What devices are involved and their mode of connection?: No external devices. It is an HP Pavilion machine with typical accessories (listed above)
Project Properties (important):
Duration: 18:53.15
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo
Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD): DVD
Output Properties (cogwheel in lower left of burn screen):
This may be the problem. When I try to open the Create DVD menu popup, it says it loads the file 100%. But then it just sits there. The file doesn't open, I don't see the file anywhere. When I click on anything on the popup, I get the Windows circular thing (use to be an hourglass....not sure what it's called now). If I try to click on anything again, a Windows popup indicates I can have Windows shut down the app or I can leave it running. I tried to leave it running, overnight, but nothing.
PAL or NTSC: NTSC
Error Codes (if any): NONE

Re: Pro X2 does not create disc!
I'm guessing that your workflow involves jumping straight into the burn module (Share>Create Disc), correct? If so try using our alternate suggested workflow of first creating a video file from your project, Share>Create Video File, DVD, then if your in NTSC area select it and the appropriate aspect ratio of 4:3 or 16:9 (widescreen). Once you have created your new video file, then clear the timeline by selecting File>New Project, do not place anything in the timeline, and then open the burn module (Share>Create disc). Now insert your newly created video file, and proceed to author and burn your DVD.
