Using arrow keys

Post by sheureka »

Is there any way to use arrow keys instead of mouse clicks to move the trim markers (or frame forward/back)? I have arthritis and am not able to do the hundreds of mouse clicks that seem to be required. TIA - sheureka

Hi sheureka

Welcome to the forum………

I searched Corel knowledge base and found some details regarding shortcut keys

They appear to be for X2 but I would assume suitable for all versions.

Hope this helps

Hello sheureka,

I'm from Corel Support. There is a way for you to use the arrow keys instead of the mouse to move the trim markers. First click on the TRIM MARKERS, then you will notice that the TRIM MARKERS will highlight or change colors, when that happens you can then use the left and right arrow keys to move the trim markers.

Clicking on the Trim Handles does not selecting them so that you can use the arrow keys to move them. However use the Tab key, then they will flash, and you can use the arrow keys to move them. Single pressing the arrow key will move the trim handle one frame, or you can hold down the arrow key and it will move it much like playing the video clip.

Hi

Tab ……Nice one, very useful, and I see the trim handles change colour in X2 and X3.
Select the clip then hit the Tab key a few times, switches between curser and the trim handles.

I usually change the digital clock to fine tune the curser then the Mark-In/out brackets to trim.

Is there a similar option when setting the animation timings when creating “Titles”

That would be nice, since Corel wrecked how it used to work.

@BrianCee - Not sure if this is new to X3, since I've only used x2 for training purposes and I'm more expose to X3 than X2. It could be a undocumented feature/function.

@trevor that's how I usually do it, but since sheureka prefer to use the arrow keys, I shared something that a colleague told me that will work.
