A non-buggy 60fps HD mode in X3?

Post by Kizzume »

Since the AVCHD format is really buggy (try putting text overlays exporting in AVCHD mode--the result is horrendous), what mode actually offers consistent 60fps, if any? Or does Corel not officially support 60fps?

The blu-ray modes will output a file that flipflops back and forth between 30fps and 60fps.

The HDV modes do the same thing.

And since I can't adjust the project properties to ANYTHING HD (they've crippled being able to do that), I can't adjust any sliders, it's all about selecting one of these modes. So which one offers a true 60fps in HD besides AVCHD which is buggy?

VS does not support true 50/60 fps, period. Another user has raised this earlier, and I have separately taken it up with Corel. But the answer for the moment is that there are very few cameras on the market as yet with this new property, and thus few potential users of X3 who will be faced with the problem. In other words, I wouldn't be holding my breath for a quick fix any time soon, I am sorry to have to say....

However, it would be useful if you could contact Corel direct and at least register your complaint with them. Otherwise, they will continue to think it is just me making the point...

So... basically they're giving options in the program that they don't support?

This is ludicrous!

They shouldn't give options that don't work. That's not a way to make a good product.

I don't work for Corel. But I suspect the argument they would makes is that X3 can accept 60p footage, but it just can't output it. Originally, I though you might be able to use Make Movie Template Manager and make a custom template using the Add route, rather than the normal custom workflow. But that too doesn't work with 60/50p video. Instead, you end up with an SD DVD template...

I'll try to contact them--I originally thought this was Corel's official forum and that this was the best way to contact them. What IS the best way to contact them about this?

In the other thread, it had been mentioned that I may be able to change the fps in my camera preferences. Indeed, I found the option in the camera and changed it.
