Hey,
I've just started using the software and I'm having trouble getting my head around a few things:
1) in the Timeline View, I can't seem to select several clips, copy, and paste them later in the timeline. I would like to be able to take sections of video I've already edited and duplicate them later, so that parts of the video repeats itself. I'd like to be able to do the same thing with the overlay track too. (I'm trying to create video to music, so some repetition is likely). Is this possible? (a work around is to create a video file and then import this back into Corel VS, but this seems bothersome to me).
2) I can't drag to duplicate.... in other progs, it's not uncommon to be able to hold down a key like alt or cntrl whilst dragging, in order to copy instead of move. I can't find a feature like this in the timeline view.

Re: noob questions
Hi and welcome
If you wish to select several video clips at the same time in the timeline then you use the standard windows multi-select feature - that is click on the first one - move to the last one and hold down shift while clicking on that - first and last and all inbetween will be selected.
I find the easiest way to duplicate clips for re-use later is to simply click on the clip and drag it up into the video library and let go - this will produce a duplicate in the library that you can drag back down as many times as you like. You can also drag multiple clips up into the library at the same time.
Just do exactly the same in the overlay tracks - as before once in your library video can be dragged down as often as you want.
No need to hold down any other keys to duplicat - drag up into the library - drag down as often as you wish
You may find it easier to use the Library Organiser (click little down arrow to the right of the Video library name) to create a seperate library for this project giving it a relevant name so that these clips do not get mixed into all you other video clips.

And just to add to that...
You can select the bits you want and drag to the timeline than drag back into the library as brian said you can do this as many times as you like. Keep in mind you are only duplicating the thumbnail and not the real video.

Re: noob questions
You don't have to drag them back again to the library - once they are there - they are there - you just drag them down as many times as you want but one always remains in the library.

Re: noob questions
You never said what version of VS you're using? This is important here, because they changed this copy/paste feature in the VS X3. You can copy/paste a clip directly in the timeline, to the same track or to another overlay track. Right-click on the clip select copy, then you should see the clip attached to your cursor, just drop it onto another part of the same track or another track.
That is not possible with earlier versions.
