Movie Factory 7 does not recognize MP4 files

Post by mhb »

I just purchased Movie Factory 7 to be able to download movies from my Sanyo Xacti HD video cam only to find that it does not see MP4 files. Any ideas on how to convert these files into a usable form or did I just waste my money?

DVD MF7 Pro does support most, but not all, MP4 files. Have you installed the Service Packs? If you're not running Win7 then you don't need to install the second one that is specifically for that. I just tried using some files I downloaded from YouTube. They also are MP4 using the h.264 codec, and like you, MF would not accept them.

If you own VS X3 it supports those file types. If not google for a free program called Super (erightsoft.com). The only bad thing about that program is finding the download link. There's advertisments for AVS (media converter) found all over, but those are not free. That Free download button at the top of the page is not for Super. You need to scroll down the page to find a link that takes you to another page. Once you find it, download and install it, you will find that it will convert just about any format to any other format.
