Scanner not working with X3

Post by robinski »

I have a Canon scanner working with X2 using Vuescan third party software because the Canon software is not suitable to Windows 7. It is not recognised by X3.

Can I expect this to work?

Many thanks,

Ed Hamrick is working on Vuescan Version 9.0. The Twain drivers to version 8.6.66 are not stable on my build with X3. I can use the Twain driver with Vuescan to enter Vuescan from X3, it lets you preview, but it won't let you save anything. This is probably a problem that Ed Hamrick (Vuescan's author) is working on. If you're on Twitter he post's his updates there. http://twitter.com/#!/VueScan

When he updated to version 8.0 the license upgrade was free to all, he may do the same for version 9.0. He's tweeting little steps of the process it would seem so I'm assuming he's pretty stoked about it.

Thanks, I'll continue scanning with X2 and wait for the upgrade.

Vuescan has been upgraded a few times. Version 9.06 is currently out and the twain drivers seem to be working fine for me.
