Video studio Prox3 clip playback

Hi Can anyone help me regarding clip playback as when I play clip it cannot be seen in video window I have to edit using the project . I have reinstalled several times and also downloaded patches still when I click on the clip and play I cannot see it can anyone advise I am running window XP home have been using coral and ulead for manny years can anyone please advise

What are your file types?
If you are using an HD video, then we need more details on your system, it may be that it is just not powerful enough.

Hi I am using Mpeg2 files which I am capturing of VHS tape I thought at first it was a Pal NSTC problem and have altered setting with no resolve

Have you checked in Settings > Preferences > General, to make sure, under 'Instant Playback Target" a little over halfway down that screen, that you have selected "Preview Window"?

Hi yes I have checked and the preview window is selected when I click on the clip tag and play the picture appears for and instance and then goes black can still hear audio if I the click on Project and play it runs ok go back to clip and the same thing happens it blinks and then goes black?

You may want to try updating your DirectX, which seems to fix many previewing problems. See the thread near the top of the forum.
