Track names in audio CD
How to burn audio cd and place the identification of tracks (music and name of interpreter) at 6 MV Plus. I did as instructed in Help, but did not work, when I play with Windows Media Player or another player, appears only one track 1, track 2 and so on ...
Re: Track names in audio CD
The artist & song names don't exist on on a regular audio CD. (Some CDs have something called "CD Text", but most don't.)
Windows Media Player (and other player software) gets a "signature" of the CD by looking at the number of tracks, the length of the tracks, and gaps between tracks. Then, it goes online* and looks for a match.
If you make an exact copy of a popular CD, it should work just like the original.
But if you make a compilation CD of your favorite songs, that CD won't be found in the database and you'll just see "track 1", etc.
MP3s, AAC & FLAC files are different. These can contain "tags" (metadata) with the title, artist, and other information. When you rip a CD and make an MP3, the ripping software can usually get the information from the online database and write the tags automatically.
* After you play the CD the 1st time, the signature might be copied onto your hard drive and it won't have to go online the next time you play the CD.
