I have two cameras to use to make videos...a sony cybershot and a webcam. The Sony takes nice close videos, but there is a terrible loud buzzing noise coming from the track when I try to edit it. However, the webcam has no buzzing noise but I don't like it because of the poor quality the video is, close up. So I'd like to use the Sony but I can't deal with the buzzing noise. My question is, is there any way to mute the noise from the camera and add a voice over. I want to narrate my videos anyway but my voice is not loud enough to overcome the buzzing from the camera.
I tried everything I can think of the stop the buzzing from the Sony but I can't figure it out. The buzzing sound happens on all programs I use, not just Video Studio.
I unplugged different devices while testing including a cordless phone and wireless mouse.
The funny thing is, is that the webcam used to do the same thing but not anymore. But I just can't use it because the video sucks.
Any help?

When under the 'Edit' tab and with your video in the timeline and selected look to the options panel above the right hand end of the timeline - at the top of the panel is a line of icons (next to the duration timer) - one of them is a loudspeaker with a cross on it - click on it and the sound from your video will be muted.
Or if you prefer - right click over your video choose 'split audio' - the audio will move from the video to the audio track - click on the audio and hit delete on your keyboard - same end result different approach

Re: Buzzing Noise
Or simply right click on the clip and choose Mute.

Re: Buzzing Noise
Thank you all very much for your help. I did what was suggested and it solved my problem. Also, I found out that the problem is with the camera. At first I thought it was some kind of interference internally in the computer or something but then I listened to the camera speaker itself and heard the buzzing in it.
Thank you all again!
Thank you all again!

Re: Buzzing Noise
Kodak's Easyshare P880 does something similar, it has a loud clicking noise. That's why I only use it for it's main purpose digital still photos..
