Hi,
I have just tried VideoStudio (old SE Ver 6.0) and loaded all the updatre packs.
But I have a problem. The capturing of the video is OK and the AVI files appears sharp when viewed full screen. However, when I rendered the DVD/VCD, the end product shows serious resolution problems.
On a 29" screen, I can see certain parts of the picture being 'pixalated' or grainy.
Is there something I am doing wrong during the rendering. Can I change the resolution? I am using PAL DVD or VCD settings.
Also, It is not exporting directly to the DVD (for VCD it is fine). I am using a Aopen DVD burner and using DVD-R disc.
Much appreciate if anyone knows how I can improve the rendering quality of my video. Thanks.
Rgds,
Deric.

Rendering problem - thanks for the advice
Hi John and Daniel,
Thanks for the advice. Did a check and set my project properties to DV AVI and the rendering showed a vast improvement.
But I still got a problem with creating DVD at the export plug in. Its an error 800-something (was late into the night so didn't copy down the fault number).
If I burnt the DVD files into a folder and then burn it into DVD using a burner software, will this be as good as burning in Ulead Video Studio?
Once again, many thanks. I learn something new everyday.

If would give the same DVD in the end, although it is somewhat longer if you only make one copy (writing to the file will be about as long as making the disk).
I do it routinely to make a DVD/RW first then if it checks OK (results on TV are not equal to what you preview on the PC) I burn a /R from the same file. If I then rendered again, I not only lose time but I'm sure to make a mistake somewhere and don't get the same output (don't ask!)
