Re: Scene divided
Good point, as I use v10 to capture. I'll try capturing with X3 just to see.

Re: Scene divided
Dear all,
after all discussions I did further tests:
In the timeline I clicked right with the mouse, chose scene divide, scanned pictures and then pressed o.k. It worked!! Not every scene was exactly divided but it is a great help.
Thank you all for your contribution.

Re: Scene divided
Some further test results:
After splitting the scenes by picture I acknowledged that the scenes were only logically cutted but not physically. In consequence in the story board way of working you have only small pieces to cut depending on the overall amount of scenes you then have on the screen. Therefore cutting makes only sense in the time line exept there is a possibility to store the logical scenes in separate physical ones. Anybody an idea?

Re: Scene divided
Hi Berthold
I seem to be a little confused with the terminology, you say “In the timeline I clicked right with the mouse, chose scene divide”
When I right click I see the option to Split by Scene. I assume we are using the same functions here.
Split by Scene works on mpeg2 files and Dv-Avi files. (with HD there may be others that support Split by Scene??????)
There are two ways to Split by Scene
1 / ……. During capture, only available for Dv-Avi.
This option will create individual files representing the separate scenes.
The captured files being saved to the working folder, and yes there will be many, each having a unique VS name using a date format.
2 / …….From the timeline, available for Mpeg 2 and Dv-Avi types.
This option will Split the timeline clip into sections creating further virtual clips.
Just as though you had used the scissors to cut the timeline.
Storing or rendering the individual clips is not practical as each clip would have to be rendered to a new video file.
If you are to work with split by scene I think it best to do it during capture.
At least unwanted clips can be deleted from the hard drive saving some space.
I use Split by Scene during capture, but have to confess, having had some problems using Corel X2 now use Win DV to do the job.

Re: Scene divided
I think - and perhaps you could confirm this berbie - that some confusion is arising because berbie is not using an English language version of VS and the wording may be slightly different
