PROX2 JAGGED LINES ON DVD

Post by BUG-EYED »

HI, NEW GUY HERE.
Have a Panasonic FZ100 camera that does AVCHD and MJEPG (.MOV) video.
I have been reading similar problems here, especially when panning.
I have tryed every (I think) imaginable combination of Field order, no Fields, and aspeck ratio, and both Codecs.
Nothing I tryed will approach my 10 year old Canon Aptura DV camera.
I finally tryed an other option, I burned a DVD using the FREE software that came with the FZ100, guess what, PERFECT.
I would appreciate ANY comments on how this is possible.

Thanks for now, BUG-EYED

Panning using HD camcorders or DS cameras must be done slowly is what I've read about these HD formats. VS does have problems with this. I'm not surprised that the software provided with your Panasonic camera works perfect for your video. Panasonic and Sony hold the licenses for AVCHD...;) If they can't get it right how will all the rest be expected to.

Are you using Smart Render? Do not use it, as it was designed for Standard Def not High Def. I've noticed that VS is not the only program that has problems with Smart Render technology used with High Def clips.
