Hi thanks so much, that's a big help, but there's one thing I don't understand,I shut down my computer last night and today I began working again at my project and I have noticed that all my video clips are not the proxy files anymore. What did I do wrong? There was a little symbol on each clip at first but today they are all gone, the project isn't smooth to watch anymore. Thanks

In my experience, the Smart Proxy clips are always there until you delete them.

Go up to the Tools drop-down menu and drop it down. Click on "Smart Proxy File Manager..."

Does it show any Smart Proxy files? If not, then your computer somehow deleted them, possibly because you have a setting selected that tells it to discard proxy files upon shutdown (or something like that). See if you can find that setting.

If Smart Proxy File Manager does show that files are still there, then VideoStudio is not recognizing them for some reason. Not sure why that might be, but maybe someone else can help out.

Again thanks for your help, I know the files are still on my computer. I can see them but for some reason like you said the program isn't using them.
What I did in the beginning was,I had all my files (original files)in my project when I got the info from you on how to create the proxy files? So instead as you said highlight all the files that are in my folder, I simple right clicked all the files in my project and created the proxy files that way. Maybe its because I didn't do it right the first time and once I restarted the computer the program used the original files again.Anyway it was a great help while it lasted.
