Moving text with the cursor keys?

Post by Auser »

Using the text tool I place some text.

Then I hit "K" thinking I can pick the text and move it around using the cursor keys (for very fine positioning), however instead of scroll the text - PSPX3 scrolls the entire picture?

What am I doing wrong? Or is PSPX3 not able to move text like this?

One quick explination. If you're keeping the text as a vector, the Pick tool is very ineffective for positioning vectors using the cursor keys. You need to have a vector tool selected in order to do positioning like that.

If you have already placed the text you will have the text tool, a vector tool, selected so you will be able to do the fine adjustments.

There is another tool that is hidden, but still active, it's the object selection tool. Just hit the 'O' key and it should activate. The Pick tool was supposed to take over all of its functions but for whatever reason it doesn't.

Thanks a lot, it seems the 'O' key is doing the job :)
