- I want: 16 bit functionality with the plug-ins and most other tools. Maybe making a certain tool 16 bit would be pointless, but it would be nice to know why.
Don't need: I think that RAW camera files support is nice, but it's not a top priority as it's more of a convenience thing than an actual need. The fact that the number of RAW files that need to be reverse engineered grows every time yet another camera manufacturer releases another one off model means that Corel will need to dedicate more and more resources to making it a good option. Add to that the camera manufacturers (most of the time) provide their own programs for RAW file work and it seems to me like reinventing the wheel a couple hundred times.

What would your one thing be for X3?
Having been on this forum for a few months I see a pattern emerging. "I want PSP to be more like _____ with the same tools as ____ and ___ and ___ and ___....". The reality is that Corel produces a nice program that's at a fantastic price point. Aside from stability and install/uninstall issues what is the absolute one thing that you'd want? But more importantly, what do you think isn't all that important?
Regards, Dan

Better scripting support. Scripting is powerful and great but it's fallen to the wayside, a number of features they've added to the program are not readily available to scripting. One of my favorite things about Paint Shop Pro is the customization options and how even scripts can become actual menu commands. So it's a great thing they have, they just need to keep it actively up to date. Would help to avoid these TKinter problems that popped up. Of course that would also include updating the documentation for scripting as well.
One thing I don't need, I'm with you on RAW but that's because I'm not a photographer. I'm an editor only.

Re: What would your one thing be for X3?
For my purposes the features are fine. What I'd like to see is a significant improvement in operation speed, usability, and stability. I'm a casual user and I still manage to crash X3 at least 5-10 times a week. It shouldn't be like this.
I've also mentioned this in another thread: when modifying values, many processes won't update until you release the cursor, This a really annoying behavior that make editing these parameters a painfully iterative process. Also annoying is when using sliders to change values, the variations available are not very fine and the slider and the effect seems to jump with very small movements. Controls need proper tapers to offer smooth control and logical variation.
I could go on but I think you get the point. In so many ways what's there is already very powerful. It just needs some spit and polish.
Thanks.
