VideoStudio ProX3 - continuous looping
After I have burnt my project to disc and play it on a TV the whole project restarts after reaching the end, ie it goes into a continuous loop. On the previous version Corel - VideoStudio ProX2 I could prevent this happening but I cannot see any way of doing this in ProX3.
My computer is an iMAC with the hard drive partitioned with a program called Parallels to emulate Microsoft Vista.
Using this set up caused no problem with ProX2.
Please advise on how I can overcome this problem

Navigation Control
Hi
I assumed you used DVD Movie Factory 7SE to burn the video.
Select the Options Cogwheel lower left, a window will show.
The bottom panel is Navigation Controls.
Deselect the option to Auto Repeat
Then select either “continue to play next clip” or “back to menu.”
It depends on how many titles you have used, if one then it doesn’t matter which you select.

Re: VideoStudio ProX3 - continuous looping
No, I didn't use DVD MovieFactory 7 for burning my project onto a DVD. I used DVD FactoryPro 2010 which I prefer.
Is it possible to avoid the 'Continuous Loop' problem using FactoryPro 2010?

Hello Buster,
Trevor is correct, you will need to remove the checkmark from the check mark on the AUTO REPEAT from the PROJECT Settings. Here's a screen shot of that screen. Hope that helps.

For DVD Factory 2010, in the Menu Edit page, hover your mouse over the Settings located on the right side. The Settings menu will slide out, then scroll to the bottom for Title Sequence, and click it. The Title Sequence will open, where you can change it. The default setting is to play in a continuous loop.

Hi
Thanks Ron, I was just looking for those settings, couldn’t find them till I saw your post and “then scroll to the bottom for Title Sequence”
Buster
I don’t use DVD Factory 2010.
I have tried to use the program but find all its burning and editing techniques totally unsuitable.
As far as I am concerned the program is not fit for purpose.
Corel also recognise there mistake in providing Factory 2010 for X3 by replacing it with the free DVD Movie Factory 7SE.
This program is very similar to the authoring software provided with earlier versions of Video Studio, up to X2.
Having said that If it works for you then that’s all that matters…………..
But I would recommend that you try DVD Factory 7SE, its reasonably easy to use with lots of support from the forum talking you through the processes.

Re: VideoStudio ProX3 - continuous looping
Hi Ron and Trevor
Thanks for your input. However only partial success I'm afraid. Irrespective of whether I select 'Play title and return to menu' or 'Play all titles and return to menu', on completion of the project it returns to the start and then plays 4 or 5 scenes. Returns to the start again and plays the same 4 or 5 scenes.
Not as good as Pro X2.

That's also why they provided DVD MovieFactory 7SE. I don't know why it's looping like that, outside of a glitch when it rendered or burned the disc. You could try to burn another, however I would choose not to burn a disc, but create DVD folders. That way you will not waste another disc if it fails, and you can use your software DVD player to test it. So on the Settings fly-out menu, check the box beside Create DVD folders.

Re: VideoStudio ProX3 - continuous looping
Hi Buster
I have just created a DVD having 12 titles. (Create DVD Folder)
Selected to have Back to Menu, the DVD plays ok, so the program is capable of creating a disc correctly.
Have you updated Direct X………..
Some strange problems with Video Studio have been fixed by manually updating Direct X.
There is a post at the top of this forum with a link, although I had to search for the latest. Download the DirectX Redist (June 2010) version.
It’s a three part install, download, extract files, install by running DXSETUP.exe

Re: VideoStudio ProX3 - continuous looping
Hi Trevor,
I am at V11of Direct X. After viewing my video on a TV it returns to the start and shows the first 2 clips on the menu. This happens on both of my computers. I can live with this.
Many thanks to you all for you help.
Regards

Hi
I have no understandings as to why this should be but the manual update of Direct X does fix some problems that the Windows Auto Updates do not.
So even if you are up to date, the manual approach is worth trying.

And believe me, the manual update *does* update versions 11 (Windows 7).
